A report on the visit to the book fair:

During the opening days of the international book fair in Qatar, the English department organized a visit to the site. The English coordinator, Mr. Mohamed Saiid, chose students from the different grades to go and witness the various sections in the fair. The aim was to encourage the students to read and to choose some books for themselves and for the school library. In the face of the increasingly spread attitude of students towards the unwillingness to read, this activity represented a kind of reconciliation between the students and the book. The aim of the school behind this visit, and the other visits organized by the other departments at school as well, was to show the importance of the book as a source of education and to encourage the students to adopt different sources of learning and not to rely only on the internet as a source of information. In fact, books have long been the man’s best friend.
